She Looks Just Like Me: Girls STEM Leadership Experience Rising 9th-12th only

ACCESS Educational Services is proud to bring back our signature all-girls STEM event! After a hiatus of several years, we are excited to reintroduce She Looks Just Like Me completely reimagined as an immersive residential experience designed to inspire, empower, and connect the next generation of women in STEM. In partnership with NCBW New Haven Metro Chapter, Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Programs, Greater Bridgeport Section of National Coalition of Negro Women, and PT Partners.

Instead of a one-day event, She Looks Just Like Me is now a four-day, three-night overnight experience where girls will get a firsthand look at what it feels like to live, learn, and play on a college campus. Participants will stay in campus housing, build new friendships, and engage in exciting STEM and Health Career activities while experiencing college life in a safe and supportive environment.

Throughout the program, students will participate in hands-on learning experiences, interactive workshops, STEM challenges, leadership activities, and engaging panel discussions led by accomplished women professionals and near-peer mentors who are currently pursuing STEM degrees in college. These inspiring role models will share their personal journeys, challenges, and successes, helping participants see themselves in future STEM careers.

The cost of the program is $135 per student and includes:

• Three nights of lodging in a campus residence hall (air-conditioned)
• Double-room accommodations (each participant will have her own bed)
• All meals and snacks
• Program materials and supplies
• Official event T-shirt and gift bag
• 24-hour supervision by trained and vetted adult chaperones-all overnight chaperones have background checks

Parent and Student Virtual Orientation- Thursday, July 23rd at 7pm

Program Dates: July 30 – August 2, 2026

Check-In: Thursday, July 30 at 3:00 PM

Departure: Sunday, August 2 at 1:00 PM

Parents can feel confident knowing that participants will be supervised around the clock and supported by caring staff throughout the entire experience.

Participants will be housed in double occupancy rooms, with own bed. ACCESS will pair students based on shared interests and preferences. Bed Sheets, Blanket, and Pillow will be provided. Student's may also bring their own bedding if they would like. All meals will be catered by A Pinch of Salt.

A detailed schedule of activities, daily meal menus, and what to bring will be made available to all registrants on July 20th.

Because when girls can see it, they can be it and sometimes, she looks just like me.
