2026-2027 Before School Program
Welcome to the Alta Public Schools Expanded Learning Program!
We’re excited to welcome you to a safe, enriching, and fun experience where students thrive academically, socially, and creatively.
Our program is completely free and open to all students attending Academia Moderna Charter School in grades TK–5th. The Expanded Learning Program offers an array of programs, including:
- Before School Program from 6:30-8:00am
- After School Program open till 6:00pm Monday - Friday.
- Fall Break Camp, Winter Break Camp, Spring Break Camp, and Summer School
- Special Events and Field Trips
We offer a wide variety of exciting activities including karate, swimming, gymnastics, rock climbing, and competitive sports like soccer, cheer, basketball, futsal, volleyball, and track and field. Beyond physical activity, students can explore enrichment clubs like culinary arts, gaming, and DIY projects, as well as specialized enrichment classes led by professional instructors in Folklórico dance, music, and STEAM subjects like coding, LEGOs, robotics, and 3D printing. We also provide daily academic support, including time for school assignments, homework, and i-Ready practice. Plus, students can look forward to Fun Friday events, special events, and field trips throughout the year.

Description
The EXL Before School Program begins at 6:30am Monday through Friday and ends at 8:00am with students reporting to their classroom teacher. Students check into program at the student entrance gate. Free Breakfast is served at 7:30am. Program activities include, academic enrichment opportunities and recreation activities.
