Description

Alpha’s Brownsville campus offers an educational experience designed to inspire and motivate kids to be limitless. At Alpha, we believe that students who love school work harder, step outside their comfort zones, connect with peers, and take ownership of their learning and future.

Alpha Quest is our engaging after-school enrichment program, open to the community, designed to provide hands-on experiences that combine creativity, movement, critical thinking, and skill-building — all within a joyful, student-centered environment.

🎨 Activity Descriptions

Art

Students will unleash their creativity through painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed-media projects. Each week inspires self-expression, culminating in a final piece that reflects their artistic growth and imagination.

Sports (Basketball & Soccer)

Students will practice key basketball and soccer skills — from dribbling and passing to teamwork and strategy. Each session balances drills with fun games, encouraging sportsmanship, confidence, and active play.

Cooking

Hands-on culinary activities allow students to become chefs while exploring new flavors. They’ll learn recipes, practice kitchen safety, and share their creations with peers — building independence and pride along the way.

Dance

Through high-energy warmups and expressive routines, students will explore rhythm, coordination, and stage presence. Each week, they’ll grow in confidence as they learn choreography together in a supportive environment.

Robotics

Students will explore the world of robotics by designing, building, and programming robots to solve real-world challenges. They’ll practice persistence, collaboration, and problem-solving while bringing their creations to life.

Martial Arts

Through structured practice, students will learn martial arts fundamentals — discipline, focus, self-control, and strength. Lessons will emphasize respect and perseverance while empowering students with new skills.

Improv & World-Building

Students will tap into their imagination to create characters, stories, and entire worlds. Through improv games and collaborative storytelling, they’ll build confidence in public speaking, creativity, and teamwork.

Music & Singing

Students will explore musical expression through singing, rhythm activities, and group performance. From pitch and harmony to musical play, each week builds confidence and creative joy.

Gaga Ball & Scooter Play

Active play takes center stage on Fridays with high-energy games like Gaga Ball and scooter relays. These activities promote teamwork, coordination, and fun while helping students burn off energy before the weekend.

Creator’s Corner / Fun Friday

Fridays also feature open-ended creative stations — from building and crafting to designing and inventing. With optional weekly themes, students can dive into hands-on projects that spark imagination and exploration.

STEAM Academy’s Revolution Robotics (Paid Add-On)

This extended robotics experience gives students access to STEAM Academy’s Revolution Robotics curriculum. With guided instruction, students will dive deeper into programming, advanced building, and competitive-style challenges. Additional registration and $40/week fee required.
