Description

Impact Lab

Empowers high school students to become changemakers in their own community. Students earn verified community service hours in various Beacon House programs while learning how to identify community needs, design solutions, lead service initiatives, and help shape programs that make Beacon House a place where teens want to belong.

Schedule:

  • Weekly: Minimum 2 hours after school (schedule TBD)
  • Monthly: Community Action Saturday (2–4 hours)
  • Flexible volunteer opportunities throughout Beacon House programs and events.

Community Service Hours Available: Approximately 60–100+ hours annually depending on participation.

After registering, students will be contacted by Beacon House's Student Success Coordinator to schedule their required orientation. During this first meeting, students will learn about available volunteer opportunities, select the department or initiative that best matches their interests, and create a volunteer schedule that works with their school and extracurricular commitments. Community service hours begin after orientation is completed.
