Description

Bridge Builders Foundation – Saturday Enrichment Program Overview

At Bridge Builders Foundation, we believe young people thrive when they are provided with intentional exposure, meaningful mentorship, and experiences that strengthen their confidence, expand their perspective, and empower them to make informed decisions about their futures. Our Saturday Enrichment Program creates a consistent space where students can explore who they are, understand the opportunities available to them, and develop the skills and agency to shape their own path.

Serving students in grades 6–12, the program operates on the first and second Saturdays of each month from October through May, with programming generally held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

First Saturdays feature interactive, in-house learning experiences facilitated by professionals, educators, community leaders, and subject-matter experts. Workshops address areas such as financial literacy, civic engagement, leadership development, communication, college and career readiness, wellness, and digital fluency. Rather than simply delivering information, these sessions encourage students to reflect, ask questions, solve problems, and connect what they learn to their own experiences, goals, and communities.

Second Saturdays take learning beyond the classroom through immersive “exposure journeys” to colleges and universities, museums, cultural institutions, businesses, innovation and STEM spaces, and other professional environments. These experiences allow students to see possibilities firsthand, engage with professionals and mentors, discover new career and educational pathways, and envision themselves succeeding in spaces they may not have previously considered accessible.

Across both Saturdays, the program intentionally develops four interconnected capacities: self-awareness, self-reflection, decision-making, and agency. As students strengthen these skills, they are better positioned to critically reflect on their experiences and circumstances, recognize their strengths and opportunities, make purposeful choices, and take greater ownership of their educational and personal futures.

More than an academic enrichment program, the Saturday Enrichment Program is a pathway from exposure to empowerment—helping young people expand what they believe is possible and equipping them with the confidence, knowledge, relationships, and agency to pursue it.
