San Pedro Bay Port Cruise Experience: Exploring Careers on the Waterfront
Date: Tuesday, July 28, 2026
Bridge Builders Foundation invites middle school, high school, and college students to participate in an exciting summer career exploration experience at the San Pedro Bay Port Complex—the largest port complex in the United States and one of the busiest trade gateways in the world.
Students will enjoy a guided educational harbor cruise while learning how goods move across the globe and discovering the many careers that keep our nation's ports operating every day. Participants will hear about opportunities in engineering, logistics, maritime transportation, environmental science, information technology, international business, public safety, customs, marine biology, operations management, and many other industries.
Following the harbor cruise, students will participate in a career discussion over lunch, where they will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn about educational pathways, and explore future careers connected to the maritime industry.
Event Schedule
- 10:00 AM: Depart from California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH)
- 12:30 PM: Educational Harbor Cruise (Approximately 1½ Hours)
- Following the Cruise: Lunch and Career Discussion
- 3:00 PM: Return to CSUDH
Eligibility
Open to eligible Bridge Builders Foundation middle school, high school, and college participants.
Cost
There is no cost to attend.
Transportation
Transportation will be provided from and back to California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). Additional transportation details will be shared with registered participants prior to the event.
Registration Information
Space is limited and registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Completing this registration form does not guarantee participation. Participants will receive a confirmation email if selected to attend.
Students who register are expected to attend the full event. If you are unable to attend after registering, please notify Bridge Builders Foundation as soon as possible so that your space may be offered to another student.
