Description

Bridge Builders Saturday Enrichment & Mentoring Program

The Saturday Enrichment & Mentoring Program is a flagship initiative of the Bridge Builders Foundation designed to empower Black and Brown youth across Los Angeles County through academic support, life skills training, cultural exploration, and career exposure.

Taking place on Saturday mornings, this program offers a dynamic blend of mentorship, educational workshops, and field-based learning. Middle and high school students are paired with college mentors, community leaders, and professionals who guide them in developing leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and a strong sense of self-worth.

Each session includes:

  • Mentorship Circles focused on accountability, peer support, and personal growth
  • Civic Engagement Activities such as petition-writing, youth-led teach-ins, and public speaking workshops
  • Cultural and Career Exploration, including sessions with guest speakers like architects, therapists, and engineers
  • Enrichment Field Trips to places like USC, LACMA, and civic institutions — connecting students with the city around them
  • Leadership Development, where youth take the lead in educating peers, facilitating workshops, and shaping programming

Participants in the program are given priority access to community events, college exposure trips, and other opportunities hosted through Bridge Builders’ wider network.

The Saturday Enrichment Program is rooted in our commitment to not only mentor youth — but to build leaders who will pour back into their communities with confidence, creativity, and purpose.
