Description
The Bridge Builders Foundation Start to Finish Scholars Program is more than a scholarship—it is a long-term scholar network and membership experience designed to invest in the academic, professional, and personal success of African American male students as they transition from high school to college, graduation, and their careers.
Becoming a Start to Finish Scholar means joining a distinguished community of young men with access to scholarship funding, dedicated mentorship, academic and personal coaching, career development, internships and professional opportunities, leadership experiences, and a growing network of corporate partners, professionals, alumni, and fellow scholars.
Since 1982, Bridge Builders Foundation has awarded more than $1.5 million in cash assistance to support scholars pursuing higher education. But the investment does not end when a scholarship is awarded. Start to Finish Scholars remain connected to Bridge Builders throughout their college journey, receiving the relationships, resources, accountability, and opportunities needed to start strong and finish stronger.
The Start to Finish Scholar Experience
As a member of the Start to Finish Scholars community, scholars may receive access to:
- Scholarship and financial assistance to support their college journey
- One-on-one mentorship from accomplished professionals and community leaders
- Academic and personal coaching designed to promote persistence and degree completion
- Internship, career, and employment opportunities through BBF's professional and corporate network
- Career readiness and professional development, including networking, workplace preparation, and leadership development
- Exclusive scholar events and experiences that build relationships and expand professional networks
- Graduate and professional school guidance
- A lifelong network of Start to Finish Scholars, alumni, mentors, and Bridge Builders supporters
Being selected as a Start to Finish Scholar is not simply receiving a scholarship. It means becoming part of a community committed to your success—from college acceptance to commencement and into your professional career.
