Description

Students will play a musical instrument, read music, and play together as a band, developing vital life skills like discipline, teamwork, responsibility, and patience.

Creating

• MU:Cr1.1.4–5 – Improvise rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic ideas for a specific purpose.
• MU:Cr2.1.4–5 – Organize and develop rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic ideas using notation or recording technology.
• MU:Cr3.1.4–5 – Evaluate, refine, and document musical ideas using teacher and peer feedback.

Performing

• MU:Pr4.1.4–5 – Select and analyze music for performance based on interest, knowledge, technical skill, and context.
• MU:Pr4.2.4–5 – Demonstrate understanding of expressive qualities (dynamics, phrasing, tempo) and interpretive decisions.
• MU:Pr5.1.4–5 – Rehearse and refine musical works individually and in ensembles, applying feedback and self-evaluation.
