Capoeira

Winter '26 Add-In Registration

`

Grades: Kindergarten to 8th

Description

*Fee for the class is $490*

Capoeira is a martial art disguised as dance, developed by African slaves in Brazil as a form of resistance and expression. Today, it blends movement, rhythm, and play in a joyful, music-filled circle. Students will learn capoeira’s basic movements, play partner sequences (non-contact), and explore its rich cultural history. Guided by the principles of Focus, Discipline, and Respect (FDR), this class fosters fitness, leadership, and community. This popular offering is presented by AfroBrazil Arts, afrobrazilarts.org.
