Job Title: DPW JR Supervisor or Crimson kids Counselor


We are seeking motivated and responsible individuals aged 18 and over to join Mayor DeMaria's Summer Youth Program. In these roles, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people while gaining valuable leadership experience and contributing to the success of our program. As either a JR supervisor or crimson kids Counselor.



Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor youth participants in our program, providing guidance, support, and encouragement to help them achieve their goals.
  • Plan and facilitate engaging and educational activities, workshops, and group discussions to promote personal growth, leadership development, and team building among youth.
  • Serve as a positive role model for youth participants, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of youth participants at all times, following established protocols and procedures for supervision and emergency response.
  • Collaborate with program staff and partners to develop and implement program activities, events, and initiatives that align with program goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with youth participants, families, community partners, and stakeholders to support program engagement and retention.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in youth development, counseling, and leadership.


Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous experience working with youth in a supervisory, counseling, or mentoring capacity is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to and engage with diverse groups of youth.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a positive attitude, creativity, and flexibility in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Passion for youth development and a commitment to empowering young people to reach their full potential.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and other pre-employment screenings, for example drug exam as required.
