Description
Assistant to Counselor – Summer Camp
The Assistant to the Counselor helps camp counselors supervise campers and support daily camp activities. This role helps create a safe, fun, and organized environment for all campers while assisting with activity preparation, participation, and cleanup.
Shift Options:
- Morning Shift: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Assist counselors with supervising campers during games, activities, and outdoor play
- Help set up and clean up activity areas, equipment, and supplies
- Support campers during arts & crafts, sports, and group activities
- Help keep campers safe and ensure camp rules are followed
- Assist with transitions between activities and snack/lunch times
- Encourage campers to participate and work together
- Report any concerns or incidents to the lead counselor or camp staff
Preferred Skills:
- Positive attitude and ability to work with children
- Responsible and dependable
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow directions from counselors and supervisors
