Job Summary:

The Parent Information Center serves as a primary support and advocacy resource for Everett families, ensuring parents have access to the information, resources, and tools necessary to support their children's education. This role is designed to build strong relationships between families and schools, promote family engagement, and assist in navigating school systems, special education services, and community resources.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Parent and Family Support: Assist parents in understanding their child’s educational needs, navigating school systems, and utilizing special education services such as IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) or 504 Plans.
  • Outreach and Engagement: Organize and implement events, workshops, and community outreach activities to engage families in their children’s education and promote school resources and programs.
  • Resource Coordination: Provide information and referrals to families about community resources, academic support, childcare, housing, and other social services.
  • School Liaison: Serve as the point of contact for families to address concerns, resolve conflicts, and support effective communication between parents and school staff.
  • Workshops and Training: Coordinate and host informational sessions, including topics such as academic expectations, parental rights, navigating special education, and how to engage in the school community.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of family interactions, track progress on initiatives, and report to school leadership on program outcomes and parent engagement metrics.
  • Translation Services: Provide or facilitate translation and interpretation services for non-English-speaking families to ensure clear communication between parents and school staff.
  • Cultural Competency: Foster an inclusive environment for families from diverse backgrounds, promoting respect for all cultures and perspectives.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to facilitate discussions and workshops for diverse groups of parents
  • Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Haitian Creole) may be preferred, depending on the community's needs
  • Ability to organize events and manage projects
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Familiarity with Everett’s community resources and educational systems

Starts: Tuesday, July 1, 2025
Ends: Saturday, August 30, 2025

We will meet from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM every Mon, Tue, Wed, & Thu starting on 7/1/2025 and ending on 8/30/2025

We will not meet on the following dates: 7/4/2025
