Description
Our Afterschool program is designed to teach students about the opportunities in creative careers. As an under-marketed industry, there’s a common misconception that creative careers are inaccessible. That’s simply not true. Anyone can be creative, and anyone can enter the creative industry. We want to empower students by providing the knowledge, lingo, and fun that come with working in a creative career. We plan to teach methods in both writing and design–the two most common jobs in creative industries–so students have the opportunity to try their hand at both.
Students will have the opportunity to engage in writing, design, and photography to create projects that mimic the work of creative professionals.
Course goals:
- Educate students on creative career opportunities
- Empower students with creative skills, knowledge, and processes
- Each student will have a portfolio at the end of the course
