iibada Dance Company is a Children's African and Modern Dance performance company. Founded in 1989, iibada focuses on provided access to dance education to all youth throughout Indianapolis and surrounding areas. We are a predominantly African American organization; where our focus is to provide quality arts programming. We welcome all aspiring dancers regardless of background, ability, religion, gender, orientation, or race. Iibada Dance Company has served 3 generations of students who have now grown into both thriving young performers and professionals throughout the nation.
Dare to Dance is a community-based program that provides equitable access to arts education and opportunities through the arts of dance. Dare to Dance (D2D) was birthed in the fall of 2018 out of a need in communities of color and low-income families seeking quality arts programming for their youth. Dare to Dance (D2D) is community-driven and strategically focused on partnering with schools targeting youth in grades 6 - 8 to impact, build, and expose them to opportunities and resources available through the art of dance. Our partnering schools choose a cohort of 15 to 20 students to go through 8 to 12 weeks of training within the school year. These selected students will have the opportunity to train with quality instructors, learn from a culturally enriched curriculum, practice discipline, and have access to resources in higher education.
Dare to Dance will meet Wednesdays at Enlace Academy for only eight weeks: September 16, September 23, September 30, October 7, October 21, October 28, November 4, and November 11th
