Description
Proyecto SOL provides bilingual nature programming that engages students in eco-therapy -- the practice of using nature as a tool to improve mental health and overall well-being. Sessions will be hosted outdoors. Enlace students in grades 6 - 8 are invited to join. Activities include pot painting, native plant scavenger hunt, journaling, meal and hygiene kit packing, advocacy, games and snacks!
Proyecto SOL was created as a way to combat the increased likelihood of anxiety and depression in Latine youth. Students spend intentional time outdoors, connect with nature, and learn about caring for their planet, bodies, and community. Proyecto SOL is an Earth Charter Indiana initiative. The target demographic are Latine students and/or students from Native Spanish-speaking households given the bilingual environment of the club.
