Description
Volunteers Opportunities/ Expectations:
- Trade Program Assistance: To assist the students with construction tools and projects.
- Center Security: To walk the center during the duration of the program and ensure the safety and accountability of the students attending.
- Check-In/ Check-Out: To welcome students and volunteers to the center, ensuring everyone who enters the center checks in and everyone who leaves the center checks out.
- Van Transportation Assistance: To arrive an hour early and/or stay 30 minutes late to assist the driver with picking up and dropping off students.
**If you do not have construction experience but desire to serve in the Trade Program, please do not hesitate to volunteer. Having adults present is most important when assisting in the development and growth of our students.**
About Our TRADE Program:
Our Trade Program is designed to teach students the basics of construction in a hands-on way. Our classes are 4-8 weeks long.
Over the course of the Trade Program students will be taught:
- Woodworking & Design
- Construction 101:
- Learning to use basic tools
- Learning basics of measuring and cutting material
- Building something from scratch
- Using creativity to create a product that you could sell
Due to safety and capacity, our classes are limited to 12 students per class.
