Description
The first day of JAM for the Fall Semester is Monday, September 14th.
We are so excited for JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians)!
- At JAM, students in 4th-12th grade can learn Traditional Appalachian Music Lessons. Classes take place at First United Methodist Church Waynesville (FUMC).
- Instrument options: Banjo, Fiddle, Guitar, or Mandolin with our talented JAM instructors. Our instructors are professional musicians outside of JAM!
- Time/Location/General Schedule: Mondays from 3:30 - 5:00pm. Students may come as early as 3:15. WMS students may take the bus up to FUMC and come to the JAM Program.
- Please bring students to FUMC Waynesville (140 Academy St Waynesville, NC 28786) and follow JAM signs to the Gym.
- Students will be provided snack, participate in square dances/rhythm games, and then move into their classes.
- Registration Fee: $100 per semester.
- If you are registering multiple students, there is a $10 discount for every sibling registered after the first.
- Rental instrument options are available
- Instruments rented from the Haywood JAM program (limited supplies) are available for a $30 non refundable fee per semester.
- Instrument rental options are also available with our neighbors at Strains of Music. They love JAM and work wonderfully with our families!
- Spring Semester JAM Dates: January 25th - April 26th.

The best address to put in GPS that will bring you to the Gym entrance is 140 Academy St Waynesville, NC 28786. There is a large parking lot on the other side of Academy St towards the Library with ample parking. To check in for JAM, please follow signs to the FUMC Faith Class.
