Description
The first day of JAM for the Fall Semester is September 14th.
We are so excited for JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians) this year!
- Traditional Appalachian Music Lessons for students in grades 4-12 in the 2026/2027 school year hosted at First United Methodist Church Waynesville (FUMC).
- The JAM program will be on Mondays from 3:30-5:00pm. Students may come as early as 3:15. WMS students may take the bus up to FUMC and come to the JAM Program.
- Students will be provided snack, participate in music classes, and have the opportunity to square dance/play rhythm games!
- Please bring students to FUMC Waynesville (140 Academy St Waynesville, NC 28786) and follow JAM signs for the Gym.
- Students have the option to learn Banjo, Fiddle, or Guitar with our talented JAM instructors who are professional musicians.
- Registration Fee of $100 per semester.
- If you are registering multiple students, there is a $10 discount for every sibling registered after the first.
- Rental instruments
- Instrument rentals from the JAM program are available for $30 non refundable fee per semester.
Instrument rental options are also available with our neighbors at Strains of Music.
Spring Semester JAM Dates: January 25th - April 26th.

The best address to put in GPS that will bring you to the Gym entrance is 140 Academy St Waynesville, NC 28786. There is a large parking lot on the other side of Academy St towards the Library with ample parking. To check in for JAM, please follow signs to the FUMC Faith Class.
