Description
The first day of Music Makers for the 2026/2027 School Year will be Wednesday, September 16th.
Music Makers is our flagship music education program designed for children, Kindergarten through 5th Grade.
- Time & Location: Wednesdays from 3:15 - 5:30pm at FUMC Waynesville (140 Academy St Waynesville, NC 28786).
- Classes are dependent on grade level. Some of our classes offered are handbells, drums, ukulele, pennywhistle, a choir called "cantamos," crafts, etc.
- This year's theme is "REEL Friends: Making Music. Making Friends. Making Memories."
- Students will also have a 30 minute time block to complete homework with a super caring group of Homework Room Volunteers!
Transportation:
- Music Makers provides transportation from school to FUMC for these schools: Junaluska, Riverbend, Hazelwood, Jonathan Valley.
- Parent Dropoff: Any elementary student is welcome to attend! We have many families who homeschool their children or attend other elementary schools outside our transportation list that attend Music Makers.
- Families can drop students off at the FUMC Courtyard (140 Academy St) between 3:15 - 3:50pm so that students may still get a snack and have time to get to their classes that start at 4:00pm.
