Description

Youth Artivism: Empowering Artistic Advocacy for Social Justice

In this program, youth explore the intersection of art and activism, engaging creatively to advocate for their community. Artivism empowers high school students to grapple with issues of racial and social justice, curating and creating art grounded in the act of "doing" to advance these critical causes.

Under the guidance of local professional artists, participants express their thoughts and perspectives through a variety of activist art forms, including visual artwork, photography, spoken word poetry, and music production. This dynamic experience gives students the tools to address societal challenges head-on and use their creative voices to drive meaningful change.

By blending artistic expression with activism, the program equips youth with the skills and platform to become empowered agents of transformation. Through collaborative projects and self-directed pieces, participants learn to harness the power of art as a medium for social justice, amplifying their lived experiences and visions for a more equitable world.

This immersive artivism initiative empowers young people to curate, create, and advocate - harnessing the creative process as a catalyst for community impact and systemic change.
