Interested MS boys and girls soccer players should register ASAP. Games will be played on

Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Rules:

• 25-minute halves and 5-minute halftime
• Unlimited substitutions
• Slide tackling and headers are not allowed
• Regular season matches may end in ties
• Tournament ties will be played out as follows:
• 5-minute overtime – First team to score wins
• If still tied after 5 minutes, the match will be decided by penalty kicks. Each team will get 5 shots on the goal.  Teams alternate after every shot.  
• Offsides - The offside rule will be in effect and taught in this age group. However, it will be called at the referee's discretion, for plays in which offsides is blatant. Any player directly involved in a play, that is in an offside position will be called offside and a free kick will be awarded to the opposing team at the spot of the foul. As the offside rule is subject to the referee's discretion and the referee may not have assistant linesmen at the field, criticism directed to the referee is dissent and will not be tolerated.
• Mercy Rule: There will be a 7 goal Mercy Rule. Once a team has reached a 7 goal lead the score is frozen and becomes the official score of the game. The remainder of the game will be played as a scrimmage
• Regular season wins and losses do not matter.  Matches may be stopped during the regular season for teachable moments.  The focus is on player development. Games may be played with less than 11 players.
