Description
High School Students: Are you interested in exploring art and design but not sure where to begin? Interested in discovering the different career paths the arts can offer? Maybe you just want to learn more about your city!
Join our Arts & Culture Club to explore creative careers and prepare for your future in the arts! In this program, you'll participate in college and career planning workshops, build and develop your portfolio, and align your skills with your interests and career goals. You'll also meet with admissions representatives from art schools, gain insights from current art school students, and connect with practicing artists across various visual art disciplines.
This is an in-person program where we will visit a different museum, art organization, or college each session. In this program, we visit museums and other cultural spaces throughout our city and hear from practicing artists and cultural workers. This class is for students eager to dive into multiple art forms, engage in hands-on activities, and discover the many paths a creative career can take.
This program is our revamped 'Art School' Program! Open to High School students students who live in or attend schools in the South-Central and neighboring Watts, Compton, South-East L.A., and Inglewood communities. Priority registration is given to students who reside in zip codes in Council District 8 and Council District 9. (Learn about Council Districts here.)
Eligibility: Open to high school students of the global majority, grades 9-12, who live in or attend schools in South-Central and neighboring communities, including Watts, Compton, Huntington Park, and Inglewood, etc.
Priority Registration will be given to students in the following Zipcodes: 90001, 90002, 90003, 90007, 90008, 90011, 90015, 90016, 90018, 90021, 90037, 90043, 90044, 90047, 90051, 90052, 90056, 90058, 90059, 90061, 90062, 90082, 90089, 90222, 90232, 90255, 90301, 90302, 90303, 90305
