2nd Grade ELA Intervention Group (Wh)

`

Grade: 2nd

Description

Our Second Grade Reading Intervention provides small-group, targeted instruction to strengthen and extend students’ growing literacy skills. Led by a credentialed teacher, this program focuses on the key areas of reading development, including:

  • Phonics & Word Analysis – applying sound and spelling patterns to read unfamiliar words.
  • High-Frequency & Academic Vocabulary – building a larger bank of words for reading and writing.
  • Fluency Development – increasing accuracy, pace, and expression when reading connected text.
  • Comprehension Skills – using strategies such as predicting, summarizing, and making connections to deepen understanding of grade-level texts.

Students will participate in interactive lessons, guided reading groups, and practice activities tailored to their individual needs. The goal is to strengthen reading fluency and comprehension, build confidence, and prepare students for success across all subject areas.

Through Beyond the Classroom Reading Intervention, second graders receive the support they need to become confident, independent readers with the skills to thrive academically.
