4th and 5th Grade ELA Intervention

`

Grades: 4th to 5th

Description

Our Fourth and Fifth Grade ELA Reading Intervention provides targeted, small-group instruction for students who have been identified as needing additional support in reading and language arts. Led by credentialed teachers, this program is designed to help students strengthen the skills necessary for success with upper-elementary texts and academic tasks.

Program Focus Areas:

  • Advanced Vocabulary Development – building knowledge of grade-level and academic vocabulary to support reading and writing across subjects.
  • Fluency with Complex Texts – increasing accuracy, pacing, and expression while reading longer passages.
  • Comprehension Strategies – analyzing main ideas, details, themes, and author’s purpose; making inferences; and drawing evidence-based conclusions.
  • Critical Thinking & Written Response – improving skills in citing text evidence and writing clear, well-organized responses to comprehension questions.

Through guided reading, structured practice, and interactive discussions, students will develop stronger reading comprehension and communication skills. The goal of this intervention is to close learning gaps, prepare students for the transition to middle school, and ensure they are confident, capable readers ready for future academic challenges.
