Fri Grades: Kindergarten to 8th

Description

The Advanced Karate class is open to all students in 2nd grade and older, as well as younger students who have graduated from the Intro Karate class. New students begin as white belts and progress through the belt ranks. Continuing students will work on their rank material for their next belt. We practice self-defense, sparring, and kata (forms). The martial arts has been shown to help with balance, core strength, attention span, and self-control. Plus, it’s FUN!

Fee includes all required materials including belts and promotion fees; uniforms are optional and can be purchased at any time from Sensei Hernly for $30. Parents can train alongside their students FREE of charge.

Students in 1st grade or Kindergarten that are new to the program should register for the before-school Intro Karate class. If you are unsure which class your child should be in, please contact Sensei Hernly at hfamilykarate@gmail.com.

We meet in the gym immediately after school until 5:15 pm. Students will be given a break at 4:30 pm for restroom and a snack. While we often are able to offer a snack provided by the school, you may want to pack a snack. AYS students will go to the cafeteria for the regular AYS-provided snack.

The doors of the principal entrance (#1) near the main office are locked as the last staff member leaves for the day. We will send an instructor to that door by 5:10 pm to let parents in the building.
