FutureHER: Women in AI & Emerging Tech

FutureHER is a high-impact, equity-driven pipeline program designed to empower young women to explore, access, and succeed in emerging technology fields—including artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, robotics, and data science—while building leadership, confidence, and career clarity.

The program specifically addresses the underrepresentation of women—particularly women of color—in high-growth STEM and tech sectors by combining exposure, mentorship, skills development, and purpose-driven application of technology for community impact.

Program Purpose

FutureHER was created to:

  • Expand access to emerging tech pathways for young women
  • Build early career identity in STEM fields
  • Increase college and career readiness in tech-aligned majors
  • Develop confidence, agency, and leadership
  • Connect technology learning to real-world social impact

Target Population

  • High school female students
  • First- and second-year college women
  • Focused on young women in New Haven County
  • Ages approximately 14–20

FutureHER prepares the next generation of women leaders to navigate, shape, and lead in emerging technology fields—bridging innovation, equity, and purpose to create pathways into the future economy.
