About Jazz Power Youth
Make friends with jazz -and through jazz- in this FREE, nationally recognized, year-round performing arts program! Current 5th–10th graders of all experience levels are invited to audition. Students immerse themselves in jazz culture through high-quality group and private instruction in music, voice, movement, acting, and performance with experienced teaching artists.
About the Audition
Auditions will take place on Wednesday, September 23 and Saturday, September 26 at JPI Studio on 5030 Broadway, Suite 645, New York, NY 10034. When completing this registration form, please select your preferred audition time slot.
Come prepared to sing one of your favorite songs and read/perform a short scene from a JPI musical excerpt. After you submit your registration, you will receive a follow-up email with the scene excerpt, audition preparation details, and confirmation of your selected audition time.
Program Schedule
Students accepted into the program will participate October 2026 through June 2027, with regular classes on Wednesdays from 4:00–7:00 PM and additional Saturday classes as assigned. The program will take place at The People’s Theatre, 419 West 206th Street, New York, NY.
Teaching artists include Vocal Director Antoinette Montague, Managing and Artistic Director Dr. Eli Yamin, Piano Teacher John Austria, and Vocal Teacher Sofia Tosello.
