Unite and KICP Step Team

Description

KIPP Indy Step Team was created to build a community, empower students by developing their identity, and have a place for students to feel secure being their authentic selves. Step team promotes the education of positive Black Culture through step, stroll, and dance performances originating from African descent and Black Greek Lettered Organizations (sororities and fraternities). All members of the KIPP Indy Step Team will maintain high expectations in and out the classroom. This includes positive behaviors, academics, and fostering leadership skills amongst their peers.

With that said, let's get Steppin'!

This year it is offered for 3rd-8th graders at KIPP Indy Unite. The 3rd-5th graders are on a team together and the 6th-8th graders are on a team together. Routines will be tailored based on grade levels to ensure developmentally appropriate fun! We are currently performing at various school events! Be on the look out for us! :)
