Colorguard Tryouts (Preparation for Winter Season 2026/2027)
Try out date and time: 2/9/26, 4 pm

The KNMS Winter Colorguard team is coed and open to all current 6th and 7th-grade students. The season will run from February to May, after which a second audition will be held for the 2026-2027 school year.
Discover movement, expression, and team performance through the art of colorguard. This tryout is for students who want to learn dande, choreography, flag fundamentals, and performance skills for our competitive Winter Season team.
During tryouts, students will learn basic technique, spins, and simple combinations while demonstrating teamwork, musicality, and a positive attitude. No prior experience is needed. Students selected will audition for the KNMS Winter Colorguard for the 2026 and 2027 season.
What to Expect
Warm-ups and conditioning
Flag basics and foundational technique
Short choreography taught by Coach Lilly
Teamwork activities and performance evaluation
Clear guidance and feedback for students new to colorguard
Season Practice Schedule
Mondays 4 to 6 pm in the MPR
Additional rehearsals and camps may be added before performances or events
What to Bring
Athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes
Hair tied back
Water bottle
All equipment will be provided for tryouts and practices
Check In
Meet in the MPR at 4 pm. Families should plan to pick up students at 6 pm.
