Description
Students will be able to tap into their creativity and learn different forms of art throughout the week! From creating a mini stage for a performance to storytelling with clay and paper mache! At the end of the week students will put on an art exhibit where they will show off all their hard work and projects, to wrap it up, students will watch Coco at the end!
Monday – Fine Arts (June 1st 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm)
- It takes a lot of people with different roles to collaborate and create a show that’s memorable for audiences! Students will learn what it takes to put together a show and choose what show they want to put on, from a musical to a rock and roll show the possibilities are endless…
Tuesday – Music Videos 101 (June 2nd 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm)
- It takes a lot of work to make meaningful and eye capturing music videos. Students will step into the shoes of music video professionals—directors, choreographers, sound engineers, and more—to learn how each role shapes the final product. There will be outfits for participants to choose from, ipads to record, and much more!
Wednesday – Paper Mache and Clay (June 3rd 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm)
- Participants will choose a story, characters, or video game to recreate with either paper mache or clay or both! They will learn how to plan their progress, make paper mache, and work with clay tools. They will use their engineering skills to build either a scene from a story of their choice! Students will have the option to work as a team or individually! We will provide all stories and books!
Thursday – Instrument Zoo (June 4th 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm)
- Students will learn and explore what makes an instrument make sound, the different pitches of an instrument, and how to create their own instrument to take home! In addition to learning about instruments and playing music they will also have the opportunity to create their mini song!
Friday – Coco/August Rush Watch Party and Art Exhibition! (June 5th 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm)
- Students will get ready to display and show off what they have created throughout the week, and experience a real art show! After their art show and refreshments students will watch the movie Coco to wrap the week full of art!
Registration Information
We encourage families to register in advance so we can collect emergency contact information and ensure a safe and well-prepared experience for all students.
Priority registration is given to students from:
- Green Acres
- Pioneer
- Beaver Valley
If space is available, students from other schools may also attend.
Eligibility
- Students currently in grades 1st-5th, including outgoing 5th graders, are welcome to attend.
- Incoming 1st graders may also attend; additional information will be requested after registration.
- Participants should be able to independently follow program expectations and participate safely in activities. The program is primarily designed for children ages 5 and older.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my child bring a friend or sibling?
Yes, as long as each child is registered.
Will snacks be provided?
Yes, a daily snack will be provided. Please list any allergies on the registration form.
Why are two emergency contacts required?
If we cannot reach the primary contact, we will call the emergency contacts in order.
If a child is not picked up within 15 minutes and no contacts can be reached, local authorities may be contacted for assistance.
