Description

This week our students will be traveling back in time to explore the infamous Jurassic eras. They will learn about the different periods dinosaurs lived in, what life was like as a dinosaur, the unfortunate extinction of these creatures, and the evidence they left behind. At the end of the week, students will participate in a watch party and have dinosaur-themed treats to celebrate everything they have learned.

Monday - The Jurassic Eras (June 15th 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

  • Our students will be traveling back to the beginning of the dinosaur era. They will learn about the different time periods that the dinosaurs lived in and how much Earth differed from today. Exploration will be done through various, hands-on activities.

Tuesday - Life as a Dinosaur (June 16th 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

  • After learning about the different eras that dinosaurs lived in, students will focus on what life was like as a dinosaur. Students will learn how dinosaurs lived, moved and survived in their environments through engaging activities and using their imagination to think and act like their favorite creatures.

Wednesday - The Extinction of Dinosaurs (June 17th 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

  • While the dinosaurs roamed the Earth for millions of years, their eventual extinction changed many things on the planet. Students will travel to the end of the dinosaur era and learn about what caused the major extinction and brought an end to the reign of these creatures.

Thursday -  Paleontology (June 18th 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

  • Even with dinosaurs extinct, they still leave behind clues about Earth’s history. Students will think like paleontologists to see how information about dinosaurs is found and explore unanswered questions.

Friday - Jurassic Watch Party (June 19th 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

  • After a long week of learning about the prehistoric areas and the creatures that ruled the land, participants will be invited to our Jurassic Park Watch Party with food and drinks. If time allows, the session will close off with fun, dinosaur-themed games/quizzes.
