Description
💥The Megawatt Mini-Golf 🏌️♂️Maker🛠️ July Summer Camp (Grades 5-12)
Calling all future engineers, makers, and designers in grades 5–12! Step up to the ultimate maker challenge this July. This 4-day, high-energy camp pushes the boundaries of cardboard construction by integrating structural engineering, paper-mâché sculpting, and electronic circuitry into a playable, interactive mini-golf course.
Forget simple ramps. Campers will work in advanced design teams to prototype, build, and wire complex hazards. They will use copper tape, LEDs, and switches to create glowing targets, electronic scoreboards, or motorized obstacles that react when a ball hits the mark!
Camp Details:
- Grade Levels: Entering 5th Grade through 12th Grade
- Duration: 4-Day Camp
- Time: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM Daily
Advanced Skills Campers Will Master:
- Electrical Engineering: Wire functional circuits, switches, and LED indicators into hazards.
- Kinetic Architecture: Calculate ball physics, slopes, and momentum for complex tracks.
- Sculpting & Design: Use paper-mâché to build realistic, durable 3D terrain and obstacles.
- Project Management: Take a concept from a blueprint to a fully functional, tested prototype.
The camp concludes with a high-stakes tournament where teams test their creations against fellow makers. No prior electronics experience is required—all technical skills will be taught on-site.
