5-Aerial Drone (Competition Team)

Description

We are creating teams to compete in the Aerial Drone Competition with the Robotics Education Competition (REC) Foundation

Teams:

Open to all students in 4 -12 Grade

The average team size is 3-5 Kids with plans to create about 5 teams

Common Aerial Drone Team Roles:

• Drone Pilots
• Drone Co-Pilots
• Programmers
• Visual Observers
• Competition Logbook Documenter
• Table of Contents
• Page
• Titles
• Dates
• Signatures
• Strategies
• Problems & solutions
• Code
• Flight time
• Team members & their roles
• Sketches and/or pictures
• Team Scout- A person at the competition who talks with the other teams, goals strategizes about upcoming matches, and finds the best match for finals
• Online Challenge competitors

Practice:

Try to attend practices, even if it not the whole time

Open Practice time is Friday 2 - 5 PM or Saturday 10 AM - 2 PM at the STEAM Center in the Large Room

Teams are expected to attend practice, work as a team to complete the challenge, maintain a log book, and attend competitions.

Competitions are held on Competition Season runs from October to March

Competitions are held on Saturday and are an All-day event

We will plan to host at least 1 competition at the STEAM Center

Most Competitions are held Out of Town

We will plan to attend 2-4 Competitions this season

The goal is to find competitions as close to home as possible

Travel will be on your own and not covered by the STEAM Center

I will post the competitions we are competing in as soon as possible

West Coast Championship (2-Day Event) at the end of May & first of June (Must qualify to attend)
