Description

We’re teaming up with Indiana Landmarks Black Heritage Preservation Program to inspire the next generation of architects, designers, and historic preservationists by connecting them to history, heritage, and design. Through this program, students will learn about architecture by creatively reimagining Indiana Avenue.


Program Details

  • Date & Time: July 21–25, 2025 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM daily
  • Location: Cook Theatre, provided by the Indiana Landmarks Black Heritage Preservation Program
  • Participants: Middle and High School Students
  • Focus:
  • Exploring Indiana Avenue’s past, present, and future
  • Understanding the mission and vision of Indiana Landmarks
  • Engaging in hands-on architectural design activities rooted in history and community
  • Final Presentation: On the last day, students will showcase their design work. The event will also feature a thesis presentation titled "The Continuum: Reviving Indiana Avenue" by a recent Ball State University graduate. You can register to attend the showcase for free HERE!
