Vex IQ Robotics

Description

VEX IQ Robotics is for grades 4 and 5. This is NOT a typical after school activity. VEX IQ Robotics has a commitment from August through the end of March. Students cannot join mid-season due to design and building of each team’s robot. Committing to robotics may make it impossible for students to be in another activity or on a sports team that would interfere with robotics practices and tournaments. We will meet on Wednesdays, after school, and possibly have build days on a few Thursdays or Saturdays. Students will compete against teams from all over the state. Tournaments take place on Saturdays and typically last for 8:00 am until around 3:00 pm. Students will work in teams of at least 5. It’s imperative that students make as many practice days and tournaments as possible since their teammates are depending on them being there. It is possible that the season could last longer in the event that a team makes the State or World Championships. There may be a cost associated by having to purchase a team shirt or hoodie.
