Description
The beginner group class is an introduction to the fundamentals of piano playing (posture, fingering, piano geography) and basic music theory (rhythm, landmark notes, treble & bass clef staffs, dynamics, etc.). Students also learn about various composers and music genres in a fun and engaging setting.
Books and sheet music are provided.
Attendance: Because group classes build on each other week to week, consistent attendance is essential for your progress and for the group as a whole. Please only sign up if you're able to commit to attending the full session.
At-Home Practice: Regular practice between classes is just as important as the class itself and makes a big difference in how quickly students progress. Students who need an instrument for home practice may apply for a free piano or keyboard — ask us for details on how to apply at your first day of class.

The Ferguson school is located at the First Baptist Church of Ferguson. Please park in the lot on the south side of the building, across from Little Caesers.
Our entrance is marked with a Pianos for People sign, down a short staircase. Come through the door, up the stairs to your right, and you'll find our hallway!
