Pianos for People Summer Piano Collective: Create. Play. Perform.

We're excited to announce our Summer Piano Collective - a special workshop series for our current private lesson students. Each week will feature a different genre of music for students to explore. The 18+ Adult class will meet on THURSDAYS from 4:00 - 5:30PM.

This workshop is intended for participants who are familiar with basic music theory, understand note values, and have basic piano experience. If you are brand new to piano, please wait to register for beginner piano class in the future.

 POP MUSIC

WEEK 1 - June 11th

Explore the world of pop piano through chords, rhythm, and familiar songs. Students will learn how to play popular chord progressions and accompany themselves or others using modern styles.

 12 BAR BLUES

WEEK 2 - June 18th

Learn the foundation of blues piano through the 12-bar blues form. Students will explore rhythm, improvisation, and expressive playing techniques.

 DISNEY / FILM MUSIC

WEEK 3 - June 25th

Bring storytelling to life through music! Students will learn to play beloved Disney songs while focusing on expression, dynamics, and musical storytelling.

 CLASSICAL (FÜR ELISE)

WEEK 4 - July 16th

Dive into classical piano through Beethoven’s Für Elise. Students will explore technique, articulation, and musical interpretation.

 ENSEMBLE PIANO

WEEK 5 - July 23rd

Experience the joy of making music together! Students will learn how to play in an ensemble, developing listening, timing, and collaboration skills.

 WEEK 6 – DUETS

WEEK 6 - July 30th

Discover the fun of duet playing! Students will work in pairs to learn coordination, balance, and musical communication at the piano.

We hope that you're able to attend all six weeks of workshops, but you are absolutely welcome to sign up for the weeks you are most interested in or are able to attend. Each workshop date requires a $5, nonrefundable registration fee.
