About ProjectArt

ProjectArt offers free art classes for students ages 4-18 throughout the school year, from September to May. Local, professional artists teach classes aligned with the National Arts Education Association standards and are informed by the teaching artist's personal artistic practice. ProjectArt classes are fun, imaginative, and cultivate a love of learning.

Materials are provided for all students. Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year.

Current Class Activity: Zillions of Zines

Zillions of Zines is a three-week project going from the week of February 24th through March 16th.

Students will explore the wonderful world of making zines, small, self-published booklets featuring their artwork and writing. This project will encourage students to use library resources to get inspired - books, magazines, online databases and more will serve as a starting point for students to craft their own stories. Students will then have the opportunity to make a zine (or collection of zines!) based on a theme of their choosing, deciding along the way if they'd like their zine to showcase their artwork, to tell an original story, or to educate on a topic.
