About ProjectArt

ProjectArt offers free art classes for students ages 4-18 throughout the school year, from September to May. Local, professional artists teach classes aligned with the National Arts Education Association standards and are informed by the teaching artist's personal artistic practice. ProjectArt classes are fun, imaginative, and cultivate a love of learning.

Materials are provided for all students.

Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year.

Current Class Activity: Cooking with Clay

Cooking with Clay is a three week project going from the week of November 18th through December 15th.

Looking forward to the upcoming holiday season, students will have the opportunity to celebrate cultural customs and traditions surrounding food. Through reading stories and poems about sharing cuisine, studying the role of food in art history, and creating sculptural renditions of their favorite meals, students will connect with peers and share their stories. Utilizing art history presentations, classroom conversations, and story times, students will reflect on their relationship to traditions surrounding food and utilize air dry clay to commemorate one of their favorite meals they've shared with loved ones during a holiday celebration.
