About ProjectArt

ProjectArt offers free art classes for students ages 4-18 throughout the school year, from September to May. Local, professional artists teach classes aligned with the National Arts Education Association standards and are informed by the teaching artist's personal artistic practice. ProjectArt classes are fun, imaginative, and cultivate a love of learning.

Materials are provided for all students. Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year.

Current Class Activity: Festival of Fibers

Festival of Fibers is a six-week project going from the week of January 6th through the week of February 10th.

This project aims to introduce students to the wonderful world of fiber art! Students will gain insight into the resident artist's own fiber practice, learn about fiber art techniques throughout history and around the globe, and develop their own fiber art skills through a variety of exciting projects. Students will use felt, pom poms, yarn, and embellishments to create their own felt dolls and pom pom creatures while engaging in group conversations, art shares, and educational presentations, culminating in an opportunity to use their newfound knowledge to make a soft sculptural object of their choice.
