About ProjectArt

ProjectArt offers free art classes for students ages 4-18 throughout the school year, from September to May. Local, professional artists teach classes aligned with the National Arts Education Association standards and are informed by the teaching artist's personal artistic practice. ProjectArt classes are fun, imaginative, and cultivate a love of learning.

Materials are provided for all students. Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year.

Current Class Project: Zines!

Zines is a six-week project going from the week of January 6th through the week of February 10th.

This project takes the foundations of composition, mixed media and merges them with art history and the user of library books. Students will explore the world of zines and create their own along the way. They'll use story telling and visual art to covey emotion, culture, community and identity. Through peer to peer collaboration, across ages, students will work together to make sure each student (regardless of age) can convey their intended message via zine. The history of zines will be conveyed through presentations and students will share their zines with each other throughout the lessons.
