About ProjectArt

ProjectArt offers free art classes for students ages 4-18 throughout the school year, from September to May. Local, professional artists teach classes aligned with the National Arts Education Association standards and are informed by the teaching artist's personal artistic practice. ProjectArt classes are fun, imaginative, and cultivate a love of learning.

Materials are provided for all students.

Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year.

Current Class Project: Circles, Triangles, and Squares, Oh My!

Circles, Triangles and Squares, Oh My! is a four week project going from the week of October 21st to November 17th.

This project takes the foundations of composition and perspective drawing and merges them with Cat's personal artistic practice of exploring the intersection of craft types. Students will explore everything that can be done with circles, triangles and squares. They will use the simple shapes to explore different composition techniques through presentations, projects and technique exploration. Students will be tasked with 1) creation - using only shapes, 2) creating collage using chance and squares, 3) paper weaving (creating the appearance of squares via technique, and 4) point perspective using shapes.
