ProjectArt offers free art classes for students ages 4-18 throughout the school year, from September to May. Local, professional artists teach classes aligned with the National Arts Education Association standards and are informed by the teaching artist's personal artistic practice. ProjectArt classes are fun, imaginative, and cultivate a love of learning. Materials are provided for all students.
Registration is required as space is limited. Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year if space allows.
Illustration is a four week project running from the week of October 21st to November 17th.
Each week students will read a new picture book from the library and discuss the illustrations they see. Students will make artwork that references the illustrator’s technique, uses elements of their process, is relevant to the artist in the book, or is another approach to illustrating that story. Students will explore questions such as: How do the illustrations enhance the story? What do the illustrations look like? What mediums or techniques did the illustrator use?
We will meet from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
