About ProjectArt
ProjectArt’s free classes run from September - May. Materials are provided for all students ages 4-18. Local, professional artists teach classes aligned with the National Arts Education Association standards and are informed by the teaching artist's creative practice. ProjectArt classes are fun, imaginative and cultivate a love of learning.
Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year. Registration is required in advance, and space is limited.

Current Project
Bringing Sculpture to Life!: Wearable and Performance Art
This project begins Feb 24 and ends March 20
The goals of this project are to open students’ minds to playful modes of expression, increase their facility with 3d media, and to broaden their concept of art objects and how they are interpreted. This project also acts as a primer on performance art and expanded sculpture practices. We'll cover innovative uses of basic art media like cut paper, drawing media, and pipe cleaners or wire (foundations & refinement in 3d, performance, mixed media). Concepts relating to performance and wearable sculpture will be covered and artists Rebecca Horn and Lauren Kalman will be introduced. Students will have multiple opportunities to share/ perform/ present their work & discuss. Peer-to peer collaboration and RA-led class discussions will be utilized.
* We will host a make-up class during Spring Break on April 16th
