The Threshold Singers of Washington, DC (TSDC) use gentle vocal music to support people through meaningful life transitions. Our singers offer bedside music for individuals in hospice, bringing comfort and connection to patients at the end of life, and their loved ones. We also host community “song baths” — immersive, live vocal experiences designed to promote peace, grounding, and restoration.
In this special family wellness gathering, members of TSDC will introduce their work and share how singing can serve as a source of comfort, connection, and healing during times of stress and change. Participants will learn about bedside singing, experience several of the songs we offer in different settings, and be invited to sing along in simple, beautiful harmonies.
We will conclude with a restorative group song bath. Zero-gravity chairs will be arranged in a circle, and participants may choose to relax and receive the music, letting the healing song wash over them. Volunteers will be invited to take turns reclining in a chair at the center, becoming the focus of the singers’ gentle harmonies for a few songs.
No musical experience is needed — just a willingness to listen, breathe, and receive.
