Description

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of audio engineering by exploring the key differences between mixing music in a studio and setting up sound for a live concert. Students will learn how sound travels, how microphones and speakers work, and how engineers shape sound differently depending on whether they are recording or performing live.

Through hands-on demonstrations and interactive activities, students will explore microphones, mixers, speakers, and basic signal flow. They will learn why studio mixes focus on detail and perfection, while live sound focuses on clarity, balance, and real time problem solving. Students will practice setting up a simple live sound system and mixing basic audio sources while developing teamwork and communication skills.

By the end of the course, students will understand how concerts are set up, how engineers prepare for live events, and how sound is managed behind the scenes. The course encourages curiosity, confidence, and technical creativity while showing students real world career paths in music and live events.
