Description
In this course, dancers will embark on a global journey through movement. One day we may “travel” to Guinea to explore powerful West African dances from the Boké region; another day we might head to Belize to feel the rhythm and joy of soca; and another day we’ll land in New York to study modern dance inspired by the legendary Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Through these experiences, dancers will explore styles that celebrate identity, honor cultural roots, and reveal the many dance traditions that continue to shape and influence our culture today.
