About Project Optimism Mentoring Sessions 2.0 (POMS):
POMS 2.0 is a semester-long school-based mentorship program designed to empower students through consistent and meaningful connections with positive role models.
Grounded in representation and relationship-building, students are paired with mentors who understand and reflect their lived experiences.
Through weekly after-school sessions, students participate in activities focused on:
- Peer bonding and friendship
- Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
- Life skills for school and beyond
Students also receive additional check-ins during the school day to support their academics and personal growth.
Our goal is to walk alongside students and families, helping each child grow with confidence, joy, and optimism.
