Mission Statement: This program is dedicated to reshaping artistic diversity, equitable wellness, and economic inclusion through the vibrant tapestry of Afro-Indigenous Latino history. Our mission is to foster transformative dialogue and deepen cultural understanding through dynamic artistic collaborations, tracing the socio-political journey from Mambo to the birth of Hip Hop.

Program Structure: Over the course of the program, participants will engage in weekly sessions designed to empower and educate through a combination of immersive learning, artistic expression, and practical skill-building.

Weekly Sessions:

Week 1: The Political Landscapes of Central America, the Caribbean, and the United States

  • Immersive learning experiences about the socio-political backdrop of pivotal eras.
  • Exploration of the impact of these landscapes on Afro-Indigenous Latino communities.

Week 2: Artistic Evolution and the Role of Artists

  • Delving into the significance of key artists during these transformative periods.
  • Understanding the influence of socio-political events on their work.

Week 3: The Birth of Mambo and Its Cultural Impact

  • Music appreciation sessions focused on the rise of Mambo.
  • Dance workshops to experience the rhythm and movement that defined the era.

Week 4: The Transition from Mambo to Hip Hop

  • Tracing the socio-political and cultural journey from Mambo to the birth of Hip Hop.
  • Exploring the creative connections between these genres.

Week 5: Economic Systems and Financial Literacy

  • Insights into economic systems that influenced these cultural movements.
  • Practical workshops on financial literacy and economic inclusion.

Week 6: Navigating the Digital Art Landscape

  • Guidance on NFT creation and digital marketing strategies.
  • Empowering participants to use digital art as a medium for sustainable income.

Outcomes: By the end of the program, participants will:
