Invite Only (student request):

Our After School Book Club, led by Ms. Flores, will have students reading engaging books, participating in fun discussions, and completing creative activities connected to the stories.

Throughout the club, students will practice important skills such as retelling stories, identifying characters and settings, asking and answering questions about key details, and making connections to the text. Book Club also helps students build vocabulary, improve reading fluency, and practice speaking and listening skills through sharing their ideas with others.

Standards Supported (Grades 1–2 Reading):

• RL.1.1 / RL.2.1 – Ask and answer questions about key details in a text
• RL.1.2 / RL.2.2 – Retell stories and identify the central message/lesson
• RL.1.3 / RL.2.3 – Describe characters, settings, and major events
