Description
The 6th Grade Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) provides students with a safe, supportive, and engaging environment that promotes academic readiness, enrichment, leadership development, and whole-child growth beyond the regular instructional day. Sierra Vista Elementary partners with ELEVO and Think Together to deliver high-quality expanded learning opportunities aligned with ELO-P program requirements and student needs.
Students participate in structured, developmentally appropriate activities that prepare them for academic success in middle school while strengthening leadership, collaboration, and personal responsibility. Program activities may include:
- Academic enrichment and structured homework support
- Literacy, writing, and math skill development
- STEM, science, and project-based learning experiences
- Arts, creativity, and enrichment opportunities
- Physical fitness, recreation, and team sports activities
- Social-emotional learning and positive decision-making skills
- Leadership development, mentorship, and collaborative group activities
The ELO-P program is intentionally designed to complement the regular instructional day by providing meaningful expanded learning experiences that increase student engagement, attendance, academic readiness, and social-emotional growth in a safe and inclusive environment.
Through partnerships with ELEVO and Think Together, students are encouraged to build confidence, strengthen critical thinking and communication skills, develop leadership abilities, and prepare for a successful transition to middle school through high-quality after-school programming aligned with Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) expectations.
