Description
This advanced mixed-media course is designed for students with prior experience in drawing, painting, or fine art who are ready to deepen their technical abilities and artistic focus.
Throughout the course, students build a cohesive body of work suitable for competitive opportunities, including youth art fellowships, AP portfolio preparation, and applications to specialized arts programs or higher-education pathways.
Guided critique, structured goal-setting, and individualized feedback support each student’s growth.All materials are provided. This course offers a focused, supportive environment for motivated young artists to advance their skills and develop a strong, portfolio-ready foundation.
About the instructor:
Jonah Elijah - Elijah received his BA in Studio Art from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2017. MFA from Claremont Graduate University in 2020, his studio practice has evolved through residencies such as the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, where he created the Virginia Series in response to the center’s historic land in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Amherst.
